Bui Gia Khanh Pham

Having founded The Penlogue since June 2023, I've dedicated myself to editing over 30 publications. For me, I genuinely enjoy the editing process — despite it being very arduous, time-consuming, it felt very rewarding to witness a raw piece turning into its most polished version, and the reciprocal appreciation from writers makes such an experience even more fulfilling. That is the purpose of my literary journal too — it is about creating a literary community that doesn't conveniently favour already-established pieces, but patiently guides, adds value for each aspiring writer, or simply, one that shares my passion for literature.

I have always had this soft spot for literature. To me, there is an inherent allure within the words themselves that are independent of their meaning. I start loving literature this way when I encounter reels that showcase dark poetic quotes, inspiring me to channel my inner thoughts through artistic poetry. One of my favorite books is The Sorrow of War, which immediately mesmerised me by the poetic-ness of the prose. Further driven by a deep appreciation for my country's history, I sought to delve into the essence of the novel beyond the language that initially captivated me and thus, published a literary paper on The Schola, a premier quarterly journal  on humanities and social sciences disciplines.

On the editorial side, my experience involves being an editor for our school's magazine and a global editor for the GC Newsroom. The GC Newsroom is a global platform that is part of the Nord Anglia Education, which contains over 88 schools across 30+ countries.
